Telephone AMP PICABOND Connectors

AMP Picabond connectors are high-reliability, insulation-displacement connectors (IDC) primarily used in the telecommunications industry for splicing multi-conductor copper telephone cables. When paired with specialized tools like the MR-1 hand crimper or the VS-3 ratchet tool, they allow technicians to perform highly efficient through, tap, butt, and bridge splicing operations without service interruptions.

• No Pre-stripping Required: The built-in slotted, tin-plated contact cuts through the plastic, paper, or pulp insulation. This creates four gas-tight redundant electrical contact points.
• Space-Saving Design: Picabond splices are lightweight and compact. They require up to 33% less space than alternative splicing techniques.
• Wire Range: They accommodate solid core wire sizes ranging from 19 to 28 AWG (0.32 to 0.90 mm).
• Weather Resistance: Available in regular, mini, and weather-resistant variants. Weather-resistant types use a special sealant gel inside the cartridge to prevent moisture degradation.
